Welcome to On Dusk, a twilight summer market showcasing ethical and sustainable designers, creators, makers and artisans in Northern NSW.

We love supporting local small businesses and we also love bringing our community together for some good vibes, good food, a cold glass of beer or wine and some live music as the summer sun goes down. Our monthly markets are held from December through March at our two beautiful outdoor locations in Ballina and Alstonville. Our stalls have been curated based on business ethics and sustainable focus allowing shoppers to meet and purchase from the best artisans and creators in our local region. If you are a local maker or business owner, or you know someone who fits the bill, we’d love to hear from you! More stallholders are always welcomed and encouraged. Each market supports a local non-profit organisation through community donations.

OUR STORY

On Dusk evolved from our mother business, Known Effects, an online ethical marketplace that showcases Australia’s best selection of ethical and sustainable small businesses. As lovers of community and gathering, we wanted to bring everything that we loved about our online marketplace into an in-person event.

Our first market launched on 20 December 2018 at Missingham Bridge Amphitheatre Park in Ballina. It was such a beautiful sunset gathering and from that day on we knew we were on to something great.

We have built our eco-friendly market with support, advice and guidance of local independent business, North East Waste. Sustainability is a journey and we are committed to making every market more eco-friendly than the last. We are grateful for our beautiful stallholders who share this vision and commitment with us.
